HAQAA3 Agency Reviews 2025-2026

Training materials for experts

This training page is aimed at experts nominated by African QA agencies and regional QA bodies, in order to:

  • Facilitate an understanding of the context of implementation of agency reviews in Africa under the HAQAA3 initiative.
  • Provide an overview of the review process, with an emphasis on the roles and responsibilities of experts

Please do not share this link, which was provided personally to you as a nominated expert.

This first part of the training programme for HAQAA3 experts consists of four steps, all of them mandatory:

1

Watching two short videos about a) the CESA and the PAQAF and b) the ASG-QA.

2

Reading and studying three key documents:

ASG-QA
ASG-QA Users’ Guide
HAQAA3 Agency Reviews Guidelines

3

Completing a multiple-choice test

4

Registering to be part of the HAQAA3 expert database by providing your personal and professional data and uploading your CV

The first deadline to complete the four steps is 26 August 2025. Only experts who complete the test and upload their CV will be eligible to be selected to conduct HAQAA3 reviews.

AASU-nominated student experts have until 30 September 2025 to complete the test and registration.

Expert selection will depend on the needs of each review process and several criteria will be taken into account in the composition of panels:

  • Experience in previous HAQAA phases
  • General knowledge of and experience in QA of higher education (IQA or EQA)
  • Language
  • Gender balance
  • Geographical balance

A synchronous training session will be organised in autumn 2025, including a general Q&A part so that any questions about the materials presented here can be answered, as well as practical training about the review process and the role of experts in it (checking self-assessment reports, requesting additional information, preparing for the site visit, and writing the external review report).
