The following Policy Briefs form a series of inputs to stimulate the work of the Network for African Continental and Regional Integration in Higher Education. The Network was successfully launched under HAQAA2 (2015-2018) as an outcome of the MOOC Series, aiming to establish enduring cross-continental ties and enhance existing initiatives and regional networks. Under HAQAA3, the Network will interact with other Networks created by HAQAA (primarily the Ambassadors’ Network) and will offer virtual workshops and facilitate the sharing and multiplication of information and learning opportunities. HAQAA3 will continue to ensure the Network’s vitality and expansion by creating new materials, responding to the needs of participants, providing information about current higher education trends, and inviting contributions from African academics and professionals. One of the contributions to this purpose is the publication of short Policy Briefs, written by recognised experts, to help shed light on some key issues of relevance to regional integration. These HAQAA Policy Briefs are written in the HAQAA3 framework but reflect only the opinion of their authors. The Briefs are in open access and can be freely circulated. However, from an epistemological point of view, they are always “work in progress” open to criticism and revision
