Call for Nominations of Qualified Quality Assurance Experts for External Agency Reviews, Consultancy Visits, and Follow-up Visits
The HAQAA3 initiative invites all national quality assurance agencies, ministries responsible for higher education quality assurance, and HAQAA3 strategic partners (CAMES, IUCEA and SARUA) to nominate up to 3 qualified quality assurance experts to conduct agency reviews, consultancy visits, and follow-up visits. These processes aim to assess alignment with the African Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ASG-QA) and support quality assurance bodies in Africa in setting up their quality assurance systems.
Roles and Responsibilities of the Experts
Nominated experts will be invited to register to be part of the HAQAA3 expert database. For each agency review exercise, experts selected from that database by HAQAA3 will form a Review Panel to conduct an evidence-based external review process to assess an agency’s (or ministry’s) compliance with the ASG-QA standards. The Review Panel must work collaboratively, ensuring impartiality and objectivity, and all members must contribute to the review process. For further information about HAQAA3 agency reviews, please refer to the agency reviews briefing note.
Expert Requirements
African QA agencies, ministries with responsibility for the QA of higher education (in countries where there is not yet an agency), and HAQAA3 strategic partners (CAMES, IUCEA and SARUA) are invited to nominate up to three experts: at least one from a QA agency or ministry with expertise in external quality assurance and at least one from a HEI with experience as an external expert for the agency/ministry and with expertise in internal quality assurance of higher education.
